What the IAT 2026 rankers actually said

Seven interviews from our own channel - All India Ranks 9 to 1850. Every quote below is spoken in the video it sits on, so you can check it yourself.

4.9Google ratingUnedited interviews, names and ranks included
MeghCame from JEE, no Biology in schoolAIR 9
I had thought Biology would be easy, but the amount of content is a lot, and IAT asks more depth-based questions. Overall the mock tests were around 80 to 90 percent aligned with the actual exam.
Megh’s advice for IAT 2027Complete the whole Biology portion. I left a few small chapters, and an easy question came from exactly there.

KrishnaPCM student, learned Biology in two weeksAIR 11
My parents were so confident about my Advanced result that they had booked a vacation. It did not go that way, so I had two weeks to prepare Biology from scratch. The IAT-specific course really helped me out - I got 50 plus because of it.
Krishna’s advice for IAT 2027With two years in hand, stay curious beyond the syllabus - that is exactly what IAT examines. With very little time, take an IAT-specific course.

RishiSwitched across from NEET preparationAIR 16
I started from NEET, so turning my preparation towards IAT was the hard part. The mock tests are what supported me the most there, and the question practice at the end - those were relevant questions.
Rishi’s advice for IAT 2027Put your major focus on the subjects you are missing - for me that was Maths and Biology - and practise through tests more than anything else.

AjinkyaNEET aspirant, one month on IATAIR 89
Watch lectures for certain topics, but do not give it very much time - mainly give mocks, that matters more. I gave the ClassPe mocks and they were awesome, the analysis and all was good.
Ajinkya’s advice for IAT 2027Start the subject you do not have a year early - two or three hours on weekends is enough. Cramming Biology in one month is very difficult.

IAT FAQs

Students ask these questions

Everything you need to know about IISER Aptitude Test preparation at ClassPe - our batches, methodology, faculty, and results.

The IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) is the single national entrance exam for admission into the BS-MS dual-degree programme at the seven IISERs, IISc Bengaluru, and IIT Madras. It is a 3-hour computer-based test with 60 questions - 15 each from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology - for 240 marks, with negative marking. ClassPe prepares you for exactly this pattern.

Yes. Since 2024, admission to the IISERs is exclusively through the IISER Aptitude Test - the earlier JEE Advanced and KVPY channels have been discontinued. With an acceptance rate of roughly 1-1.5%, the IAT is as competitive as JEE Advanced, which is why focused, IAT-specific preparation matters.

ClassPe is a dedicated IISER Aptitude Test platform - not a JEE/NEET institute that added an IAT batch as an afterthought. Every class is designed and delivered by IISER Pune and IIT alumni, follows a scientific, retention-based methodology, and runs at a 10:1 student-to-teacher ratio so no student is left behind.

ClassPe offers two focused batches - Kepler and Doppler. Kepler is our Class 12 batch for students appearing for the IAT alongside their board exams. Doppler is our dropper batch for students dedicating a full year to cracking the IISER Aptitude Test. Both cover the complete PCMB syllabus with live classes, tests, and mentorship.

Kepler is ClassPe's Class 12 batch for the IISER Aptitude Test. It is built for students who want to prepare for the IAT while balancing their board exams, covering the full Class 11 and 12 NCERT-based syllabus through live classes, regular mock tests, and personal mentoring.

Doppler is ClassPe's dropper batch for IAT aspirants taking a dedicated preparation year. It offers intensive, full-syllabus coaching for Physics, Chemistry, Maths, and Biology, with a heavier test schedule and one-on-one mentorship to convert a year of focus into a top IISER rank.

Every ClassPe class is taught and mentored by IISER Pune and IIT alumni - people who have cleared the IISER Aptitude Test themselves and know exactly what the exam demands. Each batch of 50 students is supported by four PCMB faculty and one dedicated mentor.

ClassPe uses a retention-curve model. Every topic you learn is tested within the same week, then the same test is revised after one month and again after three months. This spaced-revision system builds pinpoint accuracy and long-term retention, so concepts stay exam-ready right up to test day.

The IAT syllabus is based on the Class 11 and 12 NCERT curriculum across Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology. The exam has 60 questions (15 per subject), 240 total marks, a 3-hour duration, and negative marking for wrong answers. ClassPe's curriculum and mock tests mirror this pattern exactly.

Cutoffs vary by campus, category, and seat availability each year, but a score of 150+ is generally competitive, and 200+ typically places you in the top ranks. ClassPe's test methodology is built to push your score into these bands with consistent, measurable practice.

Yes. Because the IAT tests all four subjects (PCMB) from the NCERT syllabus, the foundation you build at ClassPe also strengthens your JEE and NEET preparation. That said, clearing the IAT needs its own strategy, and our curriculum is optimised specifically for the IISER Aptitude Test.

In IAT 2026, ClassPe students secured AIR 9, 11, and 16, with 15+ students in the Top 500, 100+ in the Top 1000, and 250+ in the Top 3000. Real names, real ranks - verifiable proof of our method.
